GOTD: Pure Ice Bare It All Festive Xmas Nail Art

Be shocked – I have done it…a Christmas-y manicure — wait for it — that I LIKE! I am just not that big on Christmas because red and green together just isn’t my thing. So here is some red and gold bling bling festive nail art instead! The Glitter Of The Day is Pure Ice’s “Bare It All” a really pretty mix of micro gold glitters mixed with just a bit of copper glitters. Since the copper has a red tint to it I decided to play it up by using Sinful Colors SinfulShine  in “Devious” as a base color. These two colors really play well off of each other for an easy and glamourous X-mas nail look.

Here is Devious on its own – it is a beautiful, rich and true red that I have been searching for. FINALLY! It has a super creamy and easy to apply formula. Here I used 2 generous coats, with NO TOPCOAT. Seriously shiny but it isn’t quite opaque – but close. Next time I will use an undie first to really make the color pop and get it 100% opaque.

For some extra sparkle and shine I added three light coats of Bare It All to the back of my tips. Extra glitter! Please ignore the kitty allergy splotchy-ness…seriously, look the other way 😉

For the final look I added the glitter using the brush in the bottle, then added a few little “stripes” in the middle using a small striping brush to give a gradient effect for the glitter. Sick of studs yet? ….yeah, me either (probably NEVER!) I added a gold stud from the Born Pretty Store to each nail, applying them and sealing each in with two generous coats of New York Color’s topcoat “Classy-Glassy”. It deepens the color of the red, and I just can’t complain about that! Would you wear this look for Christmas?

    • Well it’s two things I guess. First just lots of practice I mostly don’t get polish on my cuticle, but it still doesn’t look nice and “clean”. Second is just using a small stiff brush dipped in acetone to clean up the line and make it look nice. Hope that makes sense!
